You see, as children, we have our parents to make sure that we have sunblock on, and when to come inside when we’ve been out for too long. Then we became teenagers, and well, we kind of focus on getting as tan as possible and it goes downhill from there.

Our skin might be the human body’s largest organ but it could also be the most neglected. 

What Mom Life Does To Your Skin

Pregnancy does lots of crazy things to your body (including making a baby) but here are some that involve your skin:

  • Acne. You read that right, some women will experience their own type of glow and that includes some extra blemishes.
  • Varicose veins. Hormonal changes and extra pressure on your veins can cause them to enlarge. They generally improve without medical treatment 3-12 months after delivery. Some of us are still waiting for that to happen.
  • Stretch marks. Most commonly on the abdomen, hips, breasts, buttocks, and thighs due to your skin stretching to accommodate that growing babe. 

When you look back at your body after delivering a baby you might find some battle scars remaining, and hopefully, you can look at them with pride!
