How clean are the ingredients in your body wash? What about the bath wash for your brand new baby?

Having a brand new baby changes a lot of things in your life. Sleep, free time, stress, and even how you shop.

Prior to having kids, maybe you just grabbed whatever product was on sale. But now that you’re a mama, you’re reading labels, researching ingredients, and asking lots of questions. All of a sudden, you’re throwing out all of your old products and replacing them with better, cleaner options!

We love it, and we want to help make buying clean products easier, specifically when it comes to body/bath washes.

So, we want to discuss what to look for and what to avoid in bath washes.

What to Look For and What to Avoid in a Bath Wash

We are parents just like you, so we understand the stress and frustration that accompany shopping for your little ones.

First, let’s talk about what you should look for in a bath or body wash. We always look for products that have three key things:

  1. They are safe.
  2. They are effective (actually work).
  3. They are natural.

On top of those key things, we also look for products that are pure and gentle and made for sensitive skin, because we like taking extra good care of our skin.

Here a few ingredients that you should avoid:

⚠️ Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES): Skin irritant

⚠️ Sodium Laurel Sulfate (SLS): Skin irritant

⚠️ Triclosan: May cause skin toxicity

⚠️ Sulfates: Known to strip skin of essential oils

⚠️ Parabens: Have been linked to serious issues

⚠️ Phthalates: Linked to endocrine disruption

These ingredients are known to be in body washes and used for various purposes, from fragrance enhancers to foaming capabilities. BUT, there are safer ingredients that can do the same job without the issues.

What’s a Foaming Oil Bath Wash?

There are all sorts of cleansers. You have gel cleansers, foaming cleansers (cream-to-foam and liquid-to-foam), water-rinsable cream and lotion cleansers, cleansing wipes, bar soaps, and more.

Foaming oil bath washes are exactly what they sound like– a foaming wash that is formulated with essential oils. Essential oils can create the sudsing effect while also providing moisturizing, cleansing, and aromatic benefits.

The ‘oil’ in foaming oil definitely doesn’t mean baby oil. You will not be left with oily skin.

Many foaming oil bath washes come highly concentrated, so one or two pumps can get you or your baby nice and clean. They can also multitask to create the best bubble bath you’ve ever seen.

Get Real Clean with Your Body Wash

We are all about being transparent. When it comes to our products, each of our ingredients has a purpose, and you can find that information on each of our product pages.

When we were trying to come up with a safe bath wash, we decided to go the essential oil route so that we could avoid using any synthetic fragrances that are usually chalked full of harsh chemicals and surfactants. We found safe, natural, and effective ingredients that would provide the clean foaming that we love in a good bath wash.

We made sure to formulate it for the most sensitive skin so that brand new babies could use it (and mama could steal it). We are all about multi-purpose products so we also enjoy using our Foaming Oil Bath Wash for shaving cream and bubble baths.

We’ve also got our Rose & Shine Nourishing Body Wash made just for mama.

Hopefully, you now have a better understanding when it comes to finding a clean bath wash! Stay Fresh!
